3M™ Performance Plus Duct Tape 8979 has a unique construction that allows for both permanent and temporary applications indoor and outdoor. It is removable with little or no adhesive residue from most opaque surfaces up to 6 months after application.
Our Performance Plus Duct Tape 8979 was tested according to UL723, ASTM E84. The tape can be used at temperatures up to 200°F.
Originally developed for heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) applications, duct tape is used today in a variety of maintenance, repair and construction settings. In addition to the traditional silver, we offer it in a variety of colors to enhance utility and aesthetics. Our sturdy cloth-reinforced tape can be torn from the roll and sticks instantly, providing solutions for patching, bundling, reinforcing, tabbing, taping/splicing insulation, capping pipe, securing conduit ends, marking, labeling, temporary repair, hanging polyethylene drapes and protecting against light sandblast overspray.
