3M™ Nextel™ Fabric AF-14, woven from 312 Grade continuous filament ceramic 900 denier roving, is designed to withstand continuous temperatures up to 2200°F (1204°C). Lighter weight with moderate air permeability, AF-14 is ideal for high temperature industrial and aerospace applications, and is available both sized and heat cleaned. Standard width: 38 inches.

3M™ Nextel™ Fabric AF‐14, is woven from Nextel 312 high temperature continuous ceramic oxide fiber and is designed to withstand continuous high temperatures. It can act as a flame barrier and due to the unique properties of Nextel 312 fiber, these products outperform the useful limits of many other high temperature textiles. Our Nextel fabric AF‐14 is often used as a component in flame barriers, high temperature seals. It may also be used as a reinforcement for ceramic matrix composites (CMC) and polymer matrix composites (PMC).

Applications

  • Flame barrier and firewall components
  • Thermal protection for struts, thrust reversers, fan cowl doors and aircraft engines
  • Reinforcement in high temperature gaskets and seals
  • Reinforcement in Ceramic Matrix Composite (CMC)
